Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are injections used to fill out wrinkles and creases in the skin. They can also be used to increase the volume and definition of the lips and in cheek augmentation. The fillers we use are made from a variety of “natural” materials such as collagen and hyaluronic acid which can last for a period between 3 – 6 months depending on the treatment and treatment area.
Individual one to one private consultations can be booked in order to discuss appropriate treatments plans the cost of which is deducted from the price of the initial treatment.

How long do dermal fillers last?

Typically from the time of treatment, a filler will last between 12-18 months.

Which dermal filler will last the longest?

This depends on the type of filler used and the position. For example, in the lips, you would expect the treatment to last for 6-12 months whilst in the cheeks 12-18 months.

Can dermal fillers move?

There is a fear that the filler may travel to another part of the body which is unfounded. The filler does have to move once injected so it can be massaged into the required position and shape as required by each patient.

Can dermal fillers cause cancer?

Since the majority of dermal fillers are made up of Hyaluronic Acid a substance found naturally within the body there is no medical evidence to suggest the use of such fillers can lead to cancer.

How long does the bruising last after dermal fillers?

You should be prepared for potential minor bruising after treatment although this is not always the case and it should only last for a short period of time.
